Young children often struggle to manage their emotions. It takes awareness, and practice.
This program helps children to deal with their emotional resilience, so they are better equipped to deal with the day to day stresses
Mindfulness is included in both the Twinkle Tots 2-3 year-old group, and Creative Minds 4-6 year old group. View class details here.
Self Awareness
Children learn to bring awareness to their whole self and recognise their thoughts and feelings.
Positive Thinking
We learn to stay calm under stressful times and use positive thinking.
Reduce Anxiety
Mindfulness practices can help to reduce anxiety and stress by learning how to deal with emotions rather than react to them.
Resilience
By understanding their emotions children can become more resilient in dealing with thoughts and feelings.
What is mindfulness for kids?
Mindfulness is not the same as meditation. It is a way of living that allows us to be aware of potentially unpleasant thoughts and emotions, and handle them better due to our awareness of them in the moment, rather than react to them.
Mindfulness can strengthen children’s skills that are controlled in the prefrontal cortex of the brain, and therefore can help children focus, stay calm under stressful times, be more patient, and lower social anxiety.
Our mindfulness theme seeks to give children and their parents guides for practicing mindfulness in their everyday life, and as they progress into their school years.
Our Classes
Our literacy learning theme is a core theme within our Twinkle Tots 2-3 year-old and Creative Minds 4-6 year-old classes, not a program on it’s own.
The classes cover all three of our core themes, literacy, numeracy and mindfulness under one single class which is what makes our offering unique.
